The Airlite Carbon Atmos Ultra features an ultra-lightweight dual-density foam core with Paulownia Core Load frame to reduce weight while maintaining strength in high-load areas. Higher density foam reinforcement under the heels prevents core crush, while the Airlite standard density foam minimizes weight, and the core load frame absorbs slamming impacts and transfers load. The Ultra carbon construction uses 5 different types of carbon in 2 different modulus. North exclusive 3DY Carbon Unidirectional reinforcement run in the direction of the load paths transfers the load from your bindings to the edge efficiently. The 3DY Carbon with High Modulus Carbon reinforcement creates a stiffer beam between the bindings, contributes to the board's lively feel and lower weight and delivers more pop without adding an unnecessary amount of stiffness. It also prevents the loaded tip from flexing and losing grip when edging. At North, we are always seeking more, and we love pushing boundaries. With the Atmos Ultra we were able to have an open budget on the design parameters - with this board we went all-in to create the dream board – the only board we ever want to ride again. We even developed a new lightweight direct printing method to help reduce weight. The 138x41 weighs in at a staggering 1.8kg.
