Description
Duotone Motor Bearings – Essential maintenance for a smooth running e-foil motor
The motor of your Duotone e-foil system contains four stainless steel bearings that ensure smooth, vibration-free operation of the motor bell and propeller. With regular use—especially in saltwater—these bearings can wear out over time. Therefore, it's important to replace them periodically to ensure optimal performance and safety.
🔧 When should bearings be replaced?
-
When the engine makes unusual noises
-
When the engine no longer runs smoothly
-
When you feel more resistance during acceleration
-
When you foil regularly in salt water (faster wear)
Worn bearings can lead to power loss, noise, vibration, and in severe cases, even engine damage. Timely replacement prevents this and keeps your foil-assist system reliable.
🔩 Easy to replace with the right tools
Replacing the bearings requires a special tool. This tool is included in the Foil Assist maintenance tools , allowing you to quickly and safely remove and install any bearing.

Let everything dry completely
-
Apply a thin coat of WD-40 Specialist Penetrant or similar marine lubricant
Proper maintenance significantly extends the life of the bearings and ensures a quiet, powerful and smooth engine.
