The North Nova is a perfectly balanced, user-friendly all-round wing with an enormous wind range and light, intuitive handling. Ideal for freeride wingfoiling on flat water, in chop, and in the surf. Thanks to its direct power delivery, you'll be planing in no time — just sheet in and go. The Nova feels exceptionally light in your hands, steers effortlessly, and accelerates easily without excessive pumping. This makes the wing suitable for both beginner foilers and experienced riders who want maximum efficiency from every session.
The GripLock Carbon Boom comes pre-installed as standard, giving you complete freedom in hand position. The light yet extremely strong carbon grip with soft EVA provides more control, less hand fatigue, and a lower overall wing weight — ideal for faster, more reactive handling and smooth transitions during gybes and tacks.
To further optimize the stiffness and response of the frame, the Nova is equipped with Carbon UDi Technology. This patented (pending) technology, derived from North Sails' 3Di development, uses ultralight anti-deflection UD Carbon tapes that run the full length of the leading edge. This reduces bending, increases torsional stiffness, and provides a faster ‘snapback’ effect. The result: a more reactive frame, more efficient pumping, and more control in all wind conditions.
The Active Twist Wingtips ensure that the tips can flex in a controlled manner to shed excess power when you become overpowered. This reduces swingweight, decreases drag, and gives you extra stability and control at high speeds or in rough conditions. Thanks to the Balanced Trailering design, the tips generate less lift, keeping the wing extremely stable and neutral when riding downwind, catching waves, or holding the wing above you while walking.
For optimal handling, the Nova features Neutral Lift, with a cleverly positioned and optimized draft that maintains light and neutral pressure through every change in angle of attack. This means fewer hand adjustments, more stability, and easier, effortless transitions.
The trailing edge is constructed from durable, lightweight N-X6 Panels with minimal stretch. These panels increase tension on the trailing edge, dampen flutter, and ensure a cleaner, aerodynamic release with as little drag as possible.
With the Dual Valve HyperFlow Inflation System, you can inflate the leading edge and strut separately. Thanks to the interlinked connection with a sealing clip, you can set the strut to a higher pressure than the LE, which provides extra stiffness and direct power delivery — without hassle during inflation.
The North Nova is available in six sizes, so you have the perfect setup for every wind and every sailing area. The 7m is also a durable and cost-effective option for light wind, ideal for getting out on the water even on marginal days.
